Thailand's second island market, four hundred kilometres east of Phuket — and somewhere we would rather introduce you properly than pretend to know better than the people who live there.
Koh Samui sits in the Gulf of Thailand, on the other side of the peninsula from Phuket, and it behaves like a different market because it is one. The island is smaller, the seasons run the other way — Samui's wettest months are October and November, when Phuket is at its best — and the buyer who loves one does not always love the other. It is worth seeing both before deciding.
Ocean Worldwide has sold property in Phuket since 2004 and does not sell in Samui. What we can do is introduce you to a broker who works there properly: someone who knows which developments hold their value, which hillside plots have an access problem nobody mentions until the survey, and what the rental season really looks like. That introduction costs you nothing, and you keep talking to us about Phuket for as long as it is useful.
If you are weighing the two islands against each other, say so. That comparison is the most useful conversation we can have with you, and it is one we can have honestly — we have no stock in Samui to steer you towards.
